I have been writing since I was 10 years old. I was home schooled from 6th grade until I finished high school early at age 16. A few years after finishing high school, I traveled to Egypt with my family when we attempted to move there. While it did not work out, my time over there taught me a lot about the world and how it works.
Almost as soon as I got back, I started college. I got my Associate’s degree in English from Daytona State College, graduating With Honors. I next got my B. A. in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Central Florida immediately after that. The purpose of this major was to find a way to translate one field’s information in ways those in another field could understand. Under this degree program, I studied a variety of subjects, including history, psychology, political science, and linguistics – along with English, of course.
In my final project, I tackled the definition of empathy and bedside manner as it relates to medicine, drawing from the perspectives of linguistics, nursing, sociology, and more to come to a definition that would hopefully serve as an acceptable starting point. I graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Originally a fiction writer, I started writing about scientifically-backed herbal remedies and natural treatments as my parents got older. I like to keep an eye out for anything that might help them feel better, if only a little. I’m also incredibly fascinated by the human body and how it works. (If I had the fortitude for it, I may have considered becoming a doctor.)
I also have a variety of additional passions and interests, including linguistics, history, psychology, technology, crocheting, and video games. I can and will talk your ear off about these subjects if given the chance! I’ve even taught myself basic HTML and know a little bit about C++ and CSS. I also have a personal blog.
As you can see, I am highly capable at anything I set my mind to. If you want a writer who’s driven, self-starting, and determined, get in touch with me today.
